Years ago I sold computer software systems to developers in the Information Technology world. As part of our training, we had to learn some about software developing. Our trainers made us write code WITHOUT the help of any tools. It was a nightmare! I was so stressed out! I thought our trainer was so mean.
At some point, the trainer allowed us to use the software tools that we were selling to aid in the development process. What a significant difference; it was amazing! Being forced to develop without the right tools was the best sales training I ever received – I understood all the challenges that my clients were facing. And it gave me a deeper understanding of what developers go through on a daily basis. It allowed me to really see the significance of what our product brought to the table.
The same thing happened to me with real estate. I bought my house without the right tool, and the process was a nightmare. Not only was it stressful, but I also ran into some legal situations that I could have avoided with the right person representing me.
Less than a year after purchasing my first home, I was inspired to get my real estate license. I wanted to make the process enjoyable and hassle free for others that were going through the buying or selling process. Buying my first home (and several homes since that time) have made me a better Realtor!
